This is the long-awaited second book by popular sashiko artist Sashikonami. Amongst the simple yet lovely patterns of sashiko, this book collects the Ichimitsu-sashi technique, in which stitches are made by picking up each stitch along a katagami line. While most ichimeshi stitches are based on katagami (square) stitches, this book also introduces many ichimeshi stitches based on shakugan (diagonal) stitches. In addition to hana stitch, kagome (basket stitch), junoki (ten trees), hirayama-do (mountain path) and juku stitch, original musical note patterns and fir tree patterns are also included. The use of colourful linen and threads enhances the loveliness of the stitching. The book is full of practical items such as a kitchen cloth, drawstring, coaster, tissue case, pouch with zipper, azuma bag, glasses case and mini shoulder. Includes the basics of sashiko.
